Praline Biscuits

A simple, sugar cookie recipe with added nuts. Crunchy and a little bit chewy. You can use any nuts you prefer.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 oz or 110g butter (softened)
  • 6 oz or 175g brown sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 6 oz or 175g self-raising flour
  • 3 oz or 85g chopped nuts

Instructions
 

  • Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla and egg and beat well.
  • Stir in the flour and chopped nuts until combined.
  • At this stage, place the biscuit dough into the fridge for an hour or so to firm up.
  • When you're ready to bake, preheat your oven to 350F/180C (conventional oven).
  • Take the biscuit dough and roll it into small balls about 2½ cm across. Place the balls on a baking sheet and flatten until they are ½-¾ cm thick.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden. Remove to a wire rack to cool.
